The following profile of the Jon Anderson and Vangelis collaboration Short Stories is adapted from Wikipedia:
Short Stories
Recorded in 1979 in only three weeks, Short Stories was the first full album of collaboration by Jon and Vangelis. They had worked together as far back as 1975.
Jon contributed vocals to Vangelis’ Heaven and Hell (1975), harp to Opera Sauvage (1979), and vocals to See You Later (1980). Rumors of Vangelis’ participation in the recording of Olias of Sunhillow, Anderson’s 1976 debut solo album, have circulated — aided by Vangelis being credited in the album’s liner notes for “his energy” — but both Anderson and Vangelis have said that this was not the case.
Short Stories consists of a series spontaneous recording sessions. Performing as “Jon and Vangelis” the duo quickly made it into the European charts with I Hear You Now.
